Burial of Ashes
About Burials of Ashes
After a cremation, families often want a peaceful and permanent place to place the earthly remains of a loved one. For this purpose, we have a Garden of Remembrance, a large lawn in which small plots are dug and ashes buried.

There is a short service which accompanies the burial of ashes which includes hopeful readings from scripture and prayers. The ashes are poured into a hole in the ground, and covered with earth and turf (note that the ashes are not scattered).

Many families will want to choose a specific location in the garden, and we always try to accommodate preferences, but since the garden holds many remains, some locations may be unavailable.

There is a cost involved with the burial, set by the Church of England. If you are interested in a permanent place to remember your loved-one, please do get in touch.
